Sending thankful praise your way

Sending thankful praise your way

Guess what? This email is sent every Wednesday afternoon. As of Thanksgiving day, Natureworks is open 25 more days in 2019! How is this possible? Thanksgiving is very late this year and we are facing a condensed holiday season as a result. As usual, Natureworks is closed for Thanksgiving day, but we reopen at our REGULAR TIME, 9 am, on Friday morning when we celebrate GREEN FRIDAY.

Forget that black Friday nonsense. Sleep late, eat pie for breakfast, gather up your family, and wander into our delightful little garden center at your leisure on Friday. We have so much awaiting you… Our CT grown, premium, fresh cut Fraser fir trees are here. We have a new wreath and roping supplier and just wait until you see how full and fresh everything is. We have many talented designers (including Jennifer shown above who is is new to our design team this year) working steadily decorating wreaths, making swags, filling porch pots, and making merry in our greenhouse design studio. The retail shop is stuffed with the cutest ornaments, candles, fresh arrangements, baskets of greenery, and lovely gifts. We have bulbs for forcing, lots of cool houseplants, organic fertilizers and supplies to keep your plants happy. Plus, we will give you a $5 gift card (good towards any $25 or more purchase) when you shop on Green Friday.

Saturday is OUR holiday- SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY. This day was created to shine a spotlight on businesses just like Natureworks amidst the madness of on-line sales, big box stores, and chain stores. We are celebrating our 36th year in business and we employee up to 30 of your friends and neighbors during our busy season. We are small, but we are mighty, and we are very proud to be an integral part of your community. Besides spreading the word about organics and pollinators and monarchs and natives, we also promote locally sourced flowers, plants, and (at this time of year) greens and berries. We are celebrating Small Business Saturday with free LOCALLY made donuts, coffee, and cider all day. Santa will be here from 10am till noon. Natureworks is an awesome place to take a special picture of your kids (and your pets) with Santa surrounded by our beautiful fresh cut trees and greenery.

Guess what absolutely everyone says when they walk in?

“It smells so good in here!”

Yes, it truly does smell wonderful- fir, balsam, pine, beeswax, flowers- all things natural to make this coming holiday season relaxing, inspirational, and a joy to experience.

Thank you to all our friends out there reading this email. We thank each and every one of you for supporting us all season long. Here’s a peek of what is new this week!

We welcome custom orders for anything you desire to decorate your home, inside and out. We save our orders from previous years so we know the dimensions of your door, the size of the wreaths you always order, how many yards of roping you need, and other important details.
Or just stop in and choose from our benches and shop! Wreaths will decorate the fences and trees are ready to be chosen and brought home.
DID YOU KNOW?
  • Did you know that we sell roping by the yard? We have a new supplier and I have never seen roping so fat, fresh and full! We can also create mantel roping for you, all we need is your measurement.
  • Did you know that we name our fresh cut Christmas trees? Just wait until you enter our nursery yard and one of our Merry Elves starts twirling trees for you. It is so much fun!
  • Did you know that we dip almost all of our fresh cut greens, wreaths, and roping in WiltPruf antidesiccant spray before we put them out for you to buy? This extra step is so worth it and makes the greens last a lot longer.
  • Did you know that we carry nearly twenty kinds of greens? Seriously. If we have a lot of them, we bunch them up and fill our bins. If we only have a limited amount, we weave them into our creations. I harvest every single day before I come into work. I add new and unusual evergreens to my yard every year and will continue to seek out varieties to make our designs exciting.

Join us this week and start decorating for the holidays!
